Courtney Tompkins depending on his iPhone to make annual Black Friday shopping trips with his mother more efficient and cost effective. The phone also made 29 years of Urbandale consumers stronger.

I use mobile phones to keep track of what the store is open when and when should I where shops, Tompkins said. I’ll have a list of what my mother and I’m going to shop, what’s for sale, and my shopping list and that’s all centrally located on my phone.

He also checked around through his phone to better sales. I may be standing in a store and thought about getting things done, and wondered if in other stores, so I ll pull on my phone, check out the ads and see who has the best prices, he said.

Tompkins is a part of the growing demographic of consumers who have at their finger tips many digital tools. As ever this holiday season, technology is changing the dynamics of how people of the shop and opened up new ways for retailers to reach customers.
